Editorial Policy

How we decide what to publish, how we verify it, and what we owe the reader when we get it wrong.

LAST UPDATED · 27 JULY 2026

What we publish

Genius News 24 covers business, technology, artificial intelligence, finance, marketing, startups and policy for operators, investors and decision makers. We favour analysis and practical guidance over breaking news. When we do report an event, we say what is known, what is not, and where the information comes from.

We publish something because it helps a reader make a better decision. That is the test. Traffic potential alone is not a reason to run a story.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made by the editorial team. Advertisers, sponsors and commercial partners have no influence over which stories we run, how we frame them, or what our analysis concludes. No commercial party sees an editorial article before publication.

Where a story touches a company we have a commercial relationship with, we disclose that relationship inside the article.

Sourcing and evidence

We attribute claims. When we cite a figure, a study or a filing, we say where it comes from so a reader can check it. When we cannot verify something, we either leave it out or state plainly that it is unverified.

We do not publish invented statistics, fabricated quotations, or research we have not conducted. We do not attribute numbers to named organisations unless we have seen the source. Where an article uses a hypothetical example to illustrate a mechanism, we label it as hypothetical.

Use of AI in our newsroom

We use AI tools in parts of our production process, including research, drafting and editing. We disclose this because readers are entitled to know how the work in front of them was made.

Our rules are:

  • A named human editor is responsible for every published article, whatever tools were used to produce it.
  • AI is not permitted to introduce factual claims, statistics, quotations or sources that a human has not verified.
  • AI is not used to fabricate reporting, interviews or first-hand observation.
  • Where a piece is substantially AI-assisted in its drafting, that shapes how it is framed: as analysis or explanation, not as original reporting.

The tools change quickly. The standard does not: a person is accountable for what we publish.

Editorial and commercial content

Sponsored articles are visually distinct, carry the sponsor name in place of a staff byline, and are labelled as paid content. They are never mixed into editorial rankings or presented as independent analysis.

Display advertising is separated from editorial content and clearly marked. We do not accept payment to remove or soften an unfavourable story.

Corrections

We correct errors openly. See ourcorrections policy for how to report one and how we handle it. Our verification standards are set out infact-checking.
