How people actually join us
Almost everyone who writes for us regularly started with a single commissioned article. If you want to work with us, the fastest route is not a CV — it is a good pitch. See write for us.
Where we most often commission:
- Contributing analysts. People who have run the process they are writing about: procurement, deployment, close, underwriting, infrastructure.
- Specialist columnists. A recurring beat in one section, published on a predictable cadence.
- Editors. Occasional freelance editing where the subject needs someone who can check the reasoning, not just the grammar.
What we look for
- Specificity. The detail only someone close to the work would know.
- Comfort with being wrong in public, and with ourcorrections policy.
- Willingness to disclose conflicts, per ourethics standards.
- Writing that survives being read by someone in a hurry.
